Fig. 16 shows the results of the seasonal spatial distribution of China's power generation when PV panels are placed horizontally on the surface. The average power generation in each season is 68 kWhm −2 in spring, 78 kWhm −2 in summer, 51 kWhm −2 in autumn, and 37 kWhm −2 in winter,respectively.

The cumulative installed capacity of China accounts for 33.77% of the global PV installed capacity. Specifically, China owns abundant solar energy resources due to its broad areas with rich solar radiation. Supported by the Chinese government, the photovoltaic industry system has made continuous progress with the significant improvement.
According to the statistics released by the National Energy Administration (NEA) in 2017, the cumulative installed capacity of photovoltaic power generation in the northwest of China was 35.03 GW , accounting for 26.89% of the total installed capacity of PV power generation in the whole country.
The annual power generation ranges from 117 to 483 kWhm −2, and around half of the stations can achieve an annual power generation of more than 250 kWhm −2. In addition, it can be noted that the PV power generation in western China is higher than that in the eastern part of the country. Fig. 13.
