In this paper, a power management technique is proposed for the solar-powered grid-integrated charging station with hybrid energy storage systems for charging electric vehicles along both AC and DC loads.
Solar PV panels and battery energy storage systems (BES) create charging stations that power EVs. AC grids are used when the battery of the solar power plant runs out or when weather conditions are not appropriate. In addition, charging stations can facilitate active/reactive power transfer between battery and grid, as well as vehicle.
This paper presents an optimization algorithm to find the best combination of the control parameters of a voltage source inverter that integrates a PV power system with an EV charging station through a common grid-connected ac-bus.
The proposed hybrid charging station integrates solar power and battery energy storage to provide uninterrupted power for EVs, reducing reliance on fossil fuels and minimizing grid overload. The system operates using a three-stage charging strategy, with the PV array, battery bank, and grid electricity ensuring continuous power supply for EVs.
Performance was improved with a battery-SC hybrid system. As a result, a solar-powered charging station uses a battery and S C-coupled HESS. A battery and supercapacitor are suggested as part of the energy management system for HESS in the references for both grid-interactive and islanded modes of operation.
