Energy Management Systems (EMS) have been developed to minimize the cost of energy, by using batteries in microgrids. This paper details control strategies for the assiduous marshalling of storage devices, addressing the diverse operational modes of microgrids. A shunt active filter algorithm for improving the power quality of grid is also implemented with power flow management controller.
