In the field of battery thermal management systems (BTMS), low-temperature heating is a core technology that cannot be ignored and is considered to be a technical challenge closely related to thermal safety.

To reduce the energy consumption of batteries during the heating process of EVs, researchers have proposed burner heating methods that utilize alternative energy sources.
A temperature-rise model considering the dynamic fluctuation in battery temperature and SOC is proposed, and it is possible to predict the battery temperature during the progress of battery self-heating at low temperature.
The cooling efficiency depends on the L/D ratio; at L/D = 36.1 gives a better performance. Increasing the flow rate enhanced the temperature reduction of the battery. Also, lowering the fluid's inlet temperature significantly reduces the battery pack's temperature. Need to optimize the inlet flow rate and temperature.
When integrated into the BTMS, the PCM successfully limited the battery’s surface peak temperature to 48.76 °C and the maximum temperature differential to 4.07 °C at a discharge rate of 6C.
The research demonstrates exceptional thermal performance, with the BTMS maintaining battery temperature at 37 °C even under high discharge rates. Furthermore, the integration of forced convection at 3 m/s yields a further reduction in temperature to 35.25 °C, resulting in an 87 % decrease in temperature variation among batteries.
