While the stability of perovskite solar cells has been studied and investigated so far, the long-term stability of perovskite solar modules has yet to receive much attention despite its importance towards commercialization.
This work provides an overview of stability in perovskite–Si tandem solar cells, elucidates key tandem-specific degradation mechanisms, considers economic factors for perovskite–Si tandem solar cells and outlines future research directions to achieve the long-term stability necessary for the commercialization of this promising technology.
Materials made of perovskites are prone to deterioration when interacting with environmental effects including, light, oxygen, moisture, and heat . Over time, this deterioration may cause the solar cell's performance and efficiency to decrease, which would ultimately affect the solar cell's long-term dependability and durability .
There are so many factors those affect the stability of the PSCs such as thermal instability, moisture and Oxygen, toxicity, electrical biasing, additives, interfaces and illumination. These factors and the possible solutions concerned are described in detail herein. 7.1. Thermal instability in the perovskite solar cells
