There are numerous advantages of LIBs over other rechargeable batteries like nickel–cadmium (NiCd) and nickel-metal hydride (NiMH), chief of which is their relatively higher energy density (i.e., greater charge capacity) for a given size (Kavanagh et al., 2018).
